April Fools !

April Fools everyone! Today is the day for everyone to have a chance to become very… practical. Honestly it’s one of my favorite days! But is it really a holiday? To me, no, but I guess it means different things to each person, holiday or not. But then again, we won’t have April Fool’s Day until next year, so it’s best to be…. creative. Who will you prank today? ;)

The origin of April Fool’s Day, known as “All Fool’s Day,” still remains undiscovered. No one knows how April Fool’s Day came to be- yet.

As you may have known (or not), the Twilight Saga: Eclipse trailer has been out for a couple weeks now! If you have not seen it or you just want to watch it again, watch below or click here. Enjoy! :)

People Change- or Not.

You know, fights, problems, situations, or dilemmas always ask me the same question: do people change? I mean, if you’ve known that person long enough to know them inside out, do you expect them to change? Do you think they would learn from their mistakes once they’ve made it? I don’t know. It varies from person to person.
I don’t know about you, but I have experienced some… difficulties in my lifetime, and now I know who to trust, and who to avoid (which for me isn’t working out so well.) So tip #1 of Rochelle’s Blog: know who you’re hanging out with and who has your back, and others who aren’t very influential and letting you follow your dream. I guarantee you that if you don’t follow this tip, something will go wrong- something.
So good luck- in life.

Procrastination

Just to let you all know, procrastinating is not a good habit. I’ve learned my lesson in procrastinating, which includes staying up the night before the project’s due doing the project, and getting a birthday gift right before the party starts, or not watching the beginning of a movie because you got ready at the last minute. Procrastination = not good. Although I’ve been into some sticky situations from procrastinating, I still do it. It’s just a habit I do, I don’t know why.
So PEOPLE: DO NOT TRY THAT AT HOME- OR ANYWHERE. ;)

What is blogging for? I have thought about it for a while and thought that it wasn’t what I was doing. Or so I thought. Blogging is really just an online journal, a way to express your feelings or thoughts. Not explain the same information given by the press or magazines. I guess I am making a change in the way I blog, now that I have questioned myself [and answered] about blogging. Blogging doesn’t have to be big, like talking about how Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart broke up. It can be everyday moments like how you passed a test you thought was impossible, or how you accidentally called your dad instead of your best friend. Blogging can be expressed in many ways. Deal with it.

Earthquake in Haiti

Hello,
On Tuesday afternoon, January 12th, the worst earthquake in 200 years – 7.0 in magnitude – struck less than ten miles from the Caribbean city of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The initial quake was later followed by twelve aftershocks greater than magnitude 5.0. Structures of all kinds were damaged or collapsed, from shantytown homes to national landmarks. It is still very early in the recovery effort, but millions are likely displaced, and thousands are feared dead as rescue teams from all over the world are now descending on Haiti to help where they are able. Please help support Haiti and give a helping hand by donating food, blankets, clothing, and more. I feel very fortunate that earthquakes as great as Haiti’s do not happen here in the United States. Pray for the people in Haiti that they will soon heal and recover, as well as the country itself.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
It is finally January 1st, 2010! Two more years to live! Haha, I don’t believe in 2012. Do you?
It is also my father’s birthday, can you believe it? New Year’s day is also the same day as my dad’s birthday. Happy Birthday Dad! :)
Every year people make new year’s resolutions: spend more time with family and friends, quit smoking, learn something new, etc. My new year’s resolution for 2010 is to enjoy things while you can, and be a little more forgiving and normal…. what’s your new year’s resolutions? It can be as simple as making a new friend or as elaborate as traveling the world. :D
I hope everyone’s year has been great, and hopefully no regrets have been made in the past year… :(

H A P P Y —— N E W ——- Y E A R ! ! ! ! :) :) :)

Merry Christmas!! :)
I found this LONG but neat poem of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas but it’s a Twilight version of it. Check it out here, or read below! Please comment! Thank you! :)

But be careful! This poem spoils Breaking Dawn – the fourth book in the Twilight Saga!

‘Twas the night before Christmas in the house of Cullen,
All were quite busy, no one was sullen.
Emmet downed a pine with just one blow,
Which Alice had decorated so grand, don’t you know!
Only one stocking was hung up tonight,
For a child named Renesmee, who squealed with delight!
For this celebration was made for one cause;
The arrival of none other than Santa Claus.

Back at the cottage, with paper and bows, Bella wrapped presents for Nessie…with Rose.
Delighted, that now, they were sisters, so dear;
It’s amazing what happened in just one short year.
Charlie and Sue, engaged, now, to marry,
Were also quite busy, no time to tarry.
Charlie cursed quietly under his breath.
They still couldn’t leave. Where were Leah and Seth?
When, finally, Sue’s two kids did arrive,
With the car fully loaded, they pulled out of the drive.
It seemed kind of silly to leave break of dawn,
But he wouldn’t argue, no, not Charlie Swan.

Carlisle and Esme were cooking up stuff,
But with werewolves coming, would there be quite enough!
Folks soon would arrive, but one thing to do first;
Go on a hunt to make sure there’s no thirst.
Alice could see that they still had one hour,
Which was plenty of time for some deer to devour.

Edward drove up with wrapped presents galore,
Brought some in the house, then went back for more.
“This time,” he thought, “she’ll accept what I give…
She’s my Bella, my wife, for as long as we live.”
On the back porch, Nessie did what she oughta,
For the reindeer, she put a big bowl of water.
Next to the tree, on a cloth made of silk,
For Santa, some cookies and a tall glass of milk.

Candles were lit and the tables were set
For a Christmas morning none would forget.
The music was playing. There were lights on the trees.
The house would be found with the greatest of ease.
The guests were arriving. All Cullens were there
To greet their new friends and wish holiday cheer.
People were laughing and eating the food.
Even Leah was in a good mood.
If one looked at Jasper, they’d see a broad smile;
He’d keep Leah happy, at least for awhile!

Only one person seemed very sad.
Renesmee said, “Mama, I must have been bad.
Santa should be here, but where is his sled?
Has he gone to see other children instead?”
“Hey, Renesmee,” said Emmet, “what’s all that noise?
Could that be Santa Claus, bringing you toys?”
Nessie ran to the window. All talking did pause.
For there in the yard was dear old Santa Claus.
Instead of reindeer, eight wolves pulled the sled.
By a ninth wolf, in front, the others were led.
“It’s Rudolph, Mama!” and Bella smiled back.
For the wolf, with the red nose, was Jacob Black.
With tears in her eyes, she thought, “Oh, that boy!
He’d do just about anything to bring Nessie joy.”
Suddenly, Santa was gone…that was weird.
He was now in the house with red suit and beard.
His eyes, how they twinkled. He carried a sack.
If you looked very closely, you’d see Billy Black.
Then Paul and Embry and others were there.
Soon, Quil arrived, carrying Clare.

It was a time full of happiness…no one was sad.
A celebration that good triumphed bad.
A time to put old issues to rest,
As each saw the other for their very best.
Then, Carlisle and Billy looked very mysterious.
“We have something to say, and it’s really quite serious.
Loyalty proven…It wasn’t an act.
And the time is right for a brand new pact.
Quileutes and Cullens exist hand in hand,
Free to walk on the other’s land.
If ever we’re threatened, with death, by others,
We’ll all stand together…sisters and brothers.”

With emotion filled comments and tears in some eyes,
People were hugging and saying goodbyes.
Cars, loaded with gifts, food, and holiday cheer,
All promised to be on hand next year.
“Renesmee is snoring, so we’d better go;
But Carlisle and Esme, I want you to know
I love you so much.” Bella said, so sincere.
“Before we go, let me make this quite clear.
The decision to change was mine from the start,
No need for another…your son IS my heart.”

Hands clasped together, Bella and Ed
Carried Nessie home, and put her to bed
“She’s perfect,” he said, “but then, so are you.
Who would have guessed, after all I’ve been through,
That I would have love and a life filled with bliss.”
Then he hugged her and gave her the most tender kiss.
Of course, there was more…’twas a night full of passion.
But, I’ll tell you the rest in Stephenie fashion.
The love that they shared was honest and true.
Having said that, MERRY CHRISTMAS to you!

Happy Holidays!
Haha! Christmas is near! Thanksgiving had just passed a couple weeks ago- now most people focus on Christmas. Christmas is the time of year almost all children are looking forward to (especially me). I recently made a Christmas list that I just finished! Some of the things on my list include A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks, iHome, and an Aeropostale Jacket! What do you want for Christmas?
Every family has at least one Christmas tradition. My Christmas tradition is taking pictures or videos of opening our Christmas presents each year. What is your Christmas tradition?
I love Christmas. It’s the greatest time of year! :) Speaking of the Greatest Time of Year, there is a song about it by Aly and AJ! Enjoy! :D

Haii,
My social studies teacher showed me a YouTube video of a woman creatively making pictures with sand. It might sound weird when I say it, but you should check out the video yourself:

Breaking News!
President Obama went to New Orleans for the first time on Thursday, October 15 to visit a charter school and to attend a meeting. While he was there, he told the people that lived in the city that he is going to help them continue rebuilding because of Hurricane Katrina (even though the event happened more than four years ago.) “We will not forget about New Orleans, and we are not going to forget about the Gulf Coast,” he promised. He plans to build the region stronger than ever before.

But then, a little boy that is currently in 4th Grade asked the president the last question.

“Why do people hate you? And why, aren’t they supposed to love you, if God is love?” Tyren asked.

The crowd applaused and clapped for Tyren as Obama laughed. “First of all, I did get elected president, so not everybody hates me; I got a whole lot of votes,” Obama joked. “A lot of it is what’s called politics, where once one party wins, the other party feels like they’ve got to poke you a little bit to keep you on your toes. So you shouldn’t take it too seriously.”

But then Tyren had another statement:
“But people are worried about their own lives. A lot of people are losing their jobs right now. They’re losing their health care or they lost their homes to foreclosure and they’re feeling frustrated, and when you’re president of the United States, you’ve got to deal with all of it. You get some of the credit when things are going good, but when things are going bad, you get some of the blame.” Obama replied back to Tyren. “But that’s all right,” Obama said, adding, “I’m a pretty tough guy. Are you a tough guy? You look pretty tough. So you’ve just got to keep going on going, even when folks are criticizing you, when you know you’re doing it for other people.”

Below here is going to be the ACTUAL video of Tyren asking Obama the last question. Enjoy!

Halloween and its Origin

Happy Early Halloween!
I know, I know – why am I saying Happy Halloween? It’s only three weeks away! :) Well, Halloween is coming and that means a lot of candy is going to be handed out. It’s also the time to dress up! :) What are you going to be? A hippie? A vampire? A wrestler? Comment below and tell world what you wanna be! ;)

But the question is, how was Halloween started? Well, here’s an article called Halloween Origin that I am going to post below:

“It all began in what is now France and the British Isles. It was started by the Celtic people long ago….

The Celtic people feared the night of October 31. It was the night of their festival of Samhain, Lord of the Dead. The Celtics feared Samhain and in order to please him, the Druids (Celtic priests) held cruel fire rites in his honor. They made huge bonfires every year at this time. The bonfires were usually made of oak and considered sacred.

At this festival, the Druids made sacrifices to the gods. They burned criminals, prisoners, and animals alive. By observing the victims die, the Druids saw omens of the future, both good and bad. The powers to make predictions of the future were thought to be Samhainstrongest on this night. Why? It was because the Druids believed that the spirits were allowed to roam free on this night of the year. The Druids believed the spirits were powerful and wild on this night, and if they were treated right, they would help with predictions of the future. However, if the spirits were ignored, they would punish the Celtic community.

The Druids believed that, above powerful and wild, some spirits were evil. This is why the Celtic people wore costumes during the Samhain festival. The purpose of the costumes was to frighten the spirits. Plus, this way, the spirits wouldn’t be able to recognize them.
(This is the origin of costumes.)

To please the spirits, the Celtic people left food outside their houses on Halloween. If any hungry spirits came by, they could take the food and leave the Celtics in peace.
(This is the origin of ‘trick or treat’ing.)”

That’s all for Halloween! I might put up another post of Halloween next week, or maybe in a few weeks. Again, please comment saying what you’re going to be (or what you want to be) for Halloween! Thanks! :D

The Vampire Diaries

Guess What! :D
I am insanely in love with the show and books The Vampire Diaries. I first read the first book about two weeks ago, where I had gotten it as a gift from one of my neighbors. Now I am reading the second book – The Vampire Diaries: The Fury and Darkness Returns. I have also discovered the show The Vampire Diaries, which is based on the series. I have watched four episodes so far, so I think I’m almost caught up. I just found out about a week ago, but I didn’t even bother to look it up until yesterday. I would say my favorite character in the show is Stefan Salvatore – the mysterious new guy that just moved to The Vampire Diaries PosterMystic Falls. Paul Wesley plays Stefan Salvatore in the show. In the book I would say that my favorite character would either be Elena or Bonnie. Elena is the most popular girl in school – every girl envies, but every boy dreams of having a girl like her. Bonnie is Elena’s best friend, but came from a different backround. Her grandmother and other ancestors are Salem Witches, who immigrated to Mystic Falls.
This book has a lot of suspense, romance, and a bit of horror. I almost love the series as much as Twilight. Come to think of it, I love romantic, suspicious, horrific, dramatic vampire books. The Vampire Diaries are by L.J. Smith, who also wrote The Night World Series and many more. L.J. Smith is now my new favorite author! :D

Do you like vampire books? If so, what vampire book did you read?
